About The Position

As a Project Manager at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company. This role is on the Customer Protection (i.e. Fraud) team within Retail Bank. Customer Protection is a team of about 1,000 Associates who are motivated to ‘Make Banking Simple and Safe' by protecting our customers' money. The role specifically will be to engage with our Fraud Strategy team, technology and product partners and Fraud Operations to manage efforts that implement new processes and systems that will reduce fraud risk or improve customer and/or Associate experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification.
  • At least 2 years of Project or Process Management experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience using Google Suite or Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 1 year of Fraud or Risk Management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager for small to moderately complex projects involving multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
  • Partner with leads to develop and manage cross functional project plans in a dynamic environment and makes revisions as needed to meet changing requirements.
  • Coordinates and facilitates project meetings and partners with stakeholders and project customers to identify and propose solutions.
  • Proactively suggests team, delivery, and way of working improvements as needed.
  • Leverage existing project templates and processes and offers improvements as identified.
  • Can help external customers and stakeholders throughout the project intake process.
  • Effectively communicates status and results in a clear and timely manner and escalates when appropriate.
  • Drives decisions through consensus and gain buy-in from team members and stakeholders.
  • Actively listens and asks clarifying questions to better understand project subject matter.
  • Regularly seeks out project / team feedback and coaching from others.
  • Able to tailor communication to specific audiences.
  • Demonstrates ability to keep conversations on track and drive meetings toward pre-determined goals/objectives.
  • Identifies, documents and tracks project risks, issues and decisions and works with team to identify and propose solutions.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and positive attitude when project challenges arise and able to adjust on the fly.
  • Takes notes based on action items, decisions, risks and issues as discussed during project and team weekly meetings.
  • Helps consolidate and organize project centric artifacts in a repository easily accessible by all team members.
  • Consistently takes the customer experience into consideration and delivers high-quality project deliverables.
  • Proactively looks to grow their network and leverage their knowledge and relationships to overcome project hurdles and offer solutions (with assistance as needed).
