Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years experience in rail infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in track management or construction
  • Experience on mainline and/ or Class 1 rail projects
  • In-depth understanding of rail construction operations and processes
  • College degree in Civil Engineering, Rail Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding written, time management, and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
  • Willing and able to travel to various job sites, including those that require overnight stay and those that require short notice mobilization
  • All applicants must be legally entitled to work in USA and residing in Vancouver, WA (or surrounding areas) or willingness to relocate for the duration of the project (est. 8 months).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on LRT or major transit infrastructure projects is considered an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and promote safety and quality control policies among employees and subcontractors ensuring compliance with company, local, and federal rules, policies, and procedures
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment on project objectives and client expectations
  • Lead the field team and collaborates with owners, superintendents, area managers, engineers and subcontractors to define project needs and ensures contractual specifications are met.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring proper resource allocation and contractual requirements
  • Ensure strong change management and project controls, including tracking project progress and cost, reporting on key performance indicators, and managing project financials.
  • Manage project risks by identifying potential issues early, developing mitigation strategies, and proactively addressing challenges
  • Oversee contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and managing changes effectively.
  • Inform internal leadership of any cost variances, risks, and other activities that would impact profitability of the project
  • Conduct regular project meetings, including kick-offs, progress updates, and risk reviews
  • Plans inspections and obtains construction permits from local authorities
  • Keeps track of material stock and orders
  • Orders the appropriate equipment and manages equipment logistics
  • Complies with company, local, and federal rules, policies, and procedures – wear required safety equipment, respond to and act on safety concerns.
