Genus plc company has an exciting opportunity. We are seeking for a Project Manager-R&D to join our innovative team and help drive projects that shape the future of animal genetics. The ideal candidate will bring proven project management experience within scientific R&D environments, ensuring technical projects are executed effectively and aligned with business objectives. This position is located in our DeForest, WI office and hybrid work is an option. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management methodologies, PMP or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct work experience in project management capacity within a matrix organization, including:
  • managing complex projects with several dependencies, and
  • a proven track record of managing projects to a successful business outcome
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the fields of life sciences research

  • Experience in project management within the regulatory landscape of US and International drug development

Responsibilities

  • Manage R&D projects to the agreed scope, time, cost, and quality criteria. Projects will include internal development projects and collaborations with third parties.
  • Leverage scientific knowledge and background to integrate with team of cutting-edge scientists and collaborators. Understanding of the science and technologies will help identify and manage risks and opportunities to increase chances of a successful outcome.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to define project scope, goals, success criteria, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Develop, monitor, and control the project plan for each phase of project from inception to launch.
  • Proactively manage risks and issues, and changes in project scope and timelines. Devise and execute on risk mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Perform stakeholder mapping exercise to create and execute a customized communication plan for each project.
  • Ensure all projects follow required process for gate reviews by actively coordinating and executing project gate reviews with all required stakeholders.
  • For projects with external parties, develop and execute a project and communication plan to ensure all milestones are met as outlined within contracts. Align with Finance to ensure payments for milestones are aligned with delivery.
  • Complete and agree RACI matrix with stakeholders for all projects.
  • Keep project data up to date within the project management tool to enable accurate project reporting.
  • Develop, maintain and complete project documentation including project plans, risk log, issues log, post project reviews etc.
  • Work as part of a global Project Management team to continuously improve the Genus Project Management methodology.
  • Work with Sr. Director R&D Strategy, Operations & Finance as well as peers to research and implement best practice project management tools and techniques.
