About The Position

Stryker is hiring a Project Manager, R&D in Mahwah, NJ! Project Managers in our Joint Replacement Portfolio Management Office lead complex new product development initiatives from planning through execution. This role provides end‑to-end ownership of project schedules, risks, resources, and budgets while coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver programs aligned with business objectives and regulatory expectations. As a Project Manager, you will operate at the center of product development efforts, ensuring clarity, accountability, and disciplined execution across multiple stakeholders and workstreams. Location Candidates within a commutable distance of Mahwah, NJ are strongly preferred; remote candidates within the Eastern or Central time Zone may be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering, Life Sciences, or Business degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience or equivalent experience leading projects in regulated or product development settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience supporting new product development projects
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams with or without formal authority
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or comparable project scheduling tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and own integrated project schedules using detailed Gantt charts, including critical path analysis and milestone tracking
  • Coordinate cross‑functional resource planning by defining roles, responsibilities, and deliverables for project team members
  • Monitor project execution against schedule, scope, and budget targets, escalating risks and variances as needed
  • Identify, analyze, and manage project risks and opportunities, including development and tracking of mitigation plans
  • Lead project communications within established governance forums, tailoring updates to senior leaders, core teams, and partners
  • Manage project scope through change assessment, documentation, and alignment with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to define, track, and maintain project budgets throughout the lifecycle
  • Provide performance input to functional managers based on observed project contributions
