About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is development of power generation projects, combined cycle, simple cycle gas turbine, solar power, and energy storage projects. Responsibilities include managing the origination and development of projects and/or programs to which he or she is assigned with a focus on projects that can achieve project cost and schedule objectives while achieving excellence in the areas of project safety and reliability. This position is directly responsible for the management and oversight of all front-end loading stages of project development with a hand-off to an execution project team for the construction of the facility. This project manager is responsible for assembling and providing leadership needs of the cross-functional project team, technology understanding and experience, and building an effective relationship with key internal & external stakeholders, including contractors, where applicable. Manages risks to ensure risks are identified, evaluated, and mitigated.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 0-3 years of project management experience in new generation origination and development; or in lieu of degree, 5 years of project management experience in new generation origination and development.
0-3 years of experience in Project Management.
Proficient in project management fundamentals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management applications, processes, software and equipment.
Understanding of Industry Best Practices.
Demonstrated cross-functional project leadership experience, team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

Promotes safe behavior, in accordance with Company expectations, and adherence to the safety rules on the project.
Leads a project development team that is focused on delivering power generation and storage projects that can be executed safely and that enable the enterprise to meet the stated sustainability commitments. Understands the requirements and contributions of critical team positions and that of the key stakeholders
Organize and lead project teams to develop projects in accordance with the applicable corporate standards and guidelines. Ensure that team members fulfill the responsibilities as required of their roles. Navigate the project through the Entergy Stage Gate Process (SGP) and coordinate activities to meet the requirements of Entergy's SGP and associated deliverables (business case, estimates, schedules, risk registers, gate review deliverables, etc.). Oversee the project team in the development of project deliverables through the internal approval process. Coordinates the activities of project stakeholders and working groups engaged in project work.
Serves as the commercial lead with full understanding of the contractual aspects of projects and the need to create a contracting strategy that can be executed safely, with high quality and acceptable risk allocation - all while delivering cost and schedule certainty and maintaining expected project economic benefits. Support and/or lead contract negotiations for contracts and fulfill duties as contract manager, as needed.
Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan and execute the project in adherence with this plan. Establishes and maintains project documentation. Coordinates the efforts of all project participants, including consultants and contractors. Ensures previous projects' Lessons Learned and applicable industry experience is incorporated into the project execution plan. Manages the project in line with the project budget. Ensure project controls are implemented to effectively manage project scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts and communications in accordance with the applicable corporate standards
Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management. Prepares reports and presentations for management. Prepare and issue status reports as required. Identifies, makes timely decisions, and takes prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance. Promptly communicates issues to the next level of leadership.
Understands the roles of the Utility and regulators in project development and viability. Works closely with the regulatory functions to support the requirement of receiving the necessary certifications.
Mentorship and development of their team and the individual team members. Assure that the Individual Development Plans for each team member are complete and moving forward (as applicable).
