The Space and Defense team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Power & Data Division in Blacksburg, Virginia. This role will support the Division Operations and Supply Chain Director and Business Unit General Managers in developing and refining short- and long-range business strategies. The successful candidate will lead the creation of detailed project schedules and operational execution plans, ensuring timely achievement of strategic goals. A core tenet of the role will be driving stakeholder accountability through commitment to results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or an applicable technical field
  • 5 years in program or project management experience, preferably in a manufacturing, technology, or market-based field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results under pressure.
  • This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project schedules and action plans with measurable milestones and deliverables.
  • Manage complex, multi-layered project plans, balancing parallel initiatives to achieve strategic targets.
  • Oversee projects with a focus on schedule, cost, quality, scope, and risk.
  • Imparting project management expertise.
  • Monitor progress proactively and predictively, assessing impacts on high-level and sub-level milestones.
  • Lead teams in creating and executing recovery plans for missed targets.
  • Identify critical resources and coordinate across multiple business functions to ensure alignment and performance.
  • Communicate business strategies and plans across all organizational levels.
  • Coach team members to drive buy-in and performance toward desired outcomes.
  • Create project visuals and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide clear, concise status updates to senior and executive leadership.
