About The Position

The Project Manager, PMO Lifecycle and Governance is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the PMO Lifecycle Framework. This role owns the end-to-end governance of the PMO stage gate process, project execution standards, and lifecycle integration with business systems. The successful candidate will establish scalable, repeatable, and auditable processes that ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with strategic business objectives across the project portfolio. This position reports to the Director, PMO Process & Planning within the Project Operations Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in project management, operations, or PMO leadership in the power generation or industrial sector.
  • Deep understanding of project lifecycle frameworks, process governance, and business system integration.
  • PMP certification or equivalent accreditation is strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with SAP, project scheduling software, database systems, spreadsheets, word processing, email, graphics, technical diagrams, and flowcharts.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate core competencies: action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self and others, and ownership.
  • Ensure safety and quality are embedded in all project design, delivery, construction, commissioning, and testing activities.
  • Own and manage the PMO project lifecycle and associated stage gate process from initiation through closeout.
  • Serve as the gate review process owner, facilitating structured reviews and decision-making.
  • Define, implement, and maintain PMO process standards, SOPs, work instructions, templates, and forms.
  • Oversee risk and change management frameworks across the portfolio.
  • Partner with Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to integrate lifecycle activities with SAP and other business systems.
  • Develop, track, and report KPIs and leading indicators to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance PMO workflows, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, OSHA, and other relevant standards.
