About The Position

Responsible for the management of assigned capital projects, including the management of all planning, design, and construction activities and the execution of all associated project management activities necessary for successful project completions. Projects include those in the capital programs of Thomas Jefferson University and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital system. Manage the planning, design, and construction of capital projects, including new buildings and renovations at TJU and TJUH hospital system. This includes projects performed by outside contractors and in-house maintenance staff. Strong working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems commonly employed in healthcare, hospital, laboratory and medical office settings. Awareness of current industry trends and emerging systems in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design. Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit and be able to accomplish basic tasks and file manipulation. Must have working knowledge of eBuilder, MS Office and MS Project. Must have working knowledge of all applicable building codes for healthcare and research building type. Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and budget in consultation with project customers. Execute project financial transactions (budget approvals, commitments, invoices) through PDC’s project management system. Prepare project scope and obtain proposals for outside architectural and engineering consultants, execute contracts, and manage design teams from start of design through construction administration. Manage bid, award, and execution of construction and renovation to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely completion of all work. Coordinate telecommunications/data and moving and all other ancillary services for projects. Ensure that projects meet all regulatory requirements from permitting through occupancy. Authorities having jurisdiction would include, but not be limited to, the State Department of Health, City of Philadelphia, New Jersey Department of Health and the Joint Commission. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistently with Jefferson's core values.

Requirements
