About The Position

ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise Ensures compliance of pay/taxes; which includes periodic, monthly, quarterly and yearly payments are timely; assists in maintaining payroll tax process manuals. Audits payments made to taxing authorities, and amounts withheld from employees, and makes adjustments accordingly. Liaison for TPA supporting payroll tax; Communicates with regulatory agencies as directed. Manage and actively participate in the processing of W2's, 941's, providing customer support with employee tax questions and issues. Proactively identify project risks or barriers and problem-solve to mitigate or resolve them. Interface with various departments across the health system, from front line employees to executives. Lead process improvement (automation, use of artificial intelligence, etc.) and expense reduction initiatives. Assist in the development and refinement of processes, procedures, reporting tools, monitoring systems, and overall system optimization. Collaborate with Internal Audit to support risk assessment and mitigation efforts. Maintains confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information and data. Keep the Director informed of any challenges related to systems, procedures, or personnel performance. Lead and actively participate on projects pertaining to payroll tax, payroll, unemployment. Actively monitoring and assisting in the payroll tax email box, and Workday employee help cases. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree / or associate degree; plus 6+ years of business, human resources or related experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with strong time management, leadership, and decision making abilities.
  • Demonstrates effective collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Excels in identifying root causes and developing sustainable, practical solutions while incorporating stakeholder input.
  • Ability to manage to project deadlines.
  • Comfortable working across all levels of the health system, including executive leadership.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, coupled with Multi-state Tax experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in Payroll or related field.
  • Experience with PA and OH local taxes required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree / or master's degree; plus 7+ years of business, human resources or related experience.
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite, Business Intelligence experience, extensive Multi-state Tax and year-end reporting experience, Project Management experience, and ERP experience (Workday experience preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Accounting, Project Management, or Business Intelligence certification preferred
