About The Position

The Project Manager for Patient Safety & Regulatory Affairs plays a crucial role in supporting the Department of Regulatory Affairs & Patient Safety at Stony Brook Medicine. Reporting directly to the Chief of Regulatory Affairs, this position is responsible for managing various projects that focus on patient safety and regulatory compliance. The Project Manager will collaborate with hospital leadership to prioritize initiatives, develop detailed project plans, and ensure a structured approach to project completion. This role is essential in coordinating organization-wide efforts to manage regulatory compliance and respond effectively to survey findings and reportable incidents. In addition to project management, the Project Manager will participate in quality improvement projects, including conducting Root Cause Analyses. They will review, develop, and align policies across the network to ensure consistency and compliance. The Project Manager will also track and regulate project progress, serving as a regulatory consultant throughout the organization. This includes coordinating clinical meetings, setting agendas, and distributing minutes for various committees. The Project Manager is expected to be an expert on policies and regulatory compliance, providing guidance and support to other team members and departments as needed. Overall, the Project Manager for Patient Safety & Regulatory Affairs is tasked with ensuring that all projects are implemented successfully, covering the total scope of each initiative, and contributing to the overall safety and regulatory compliance of the hospital.
