HDR seeks a highly motivated project manager to work in the transit market sector. This position will provide project management and technical services to transit clients in Northern California. Specifically, this individual may work in client offices to manage and deliver projects and respond to client needs related to transit projects. This position requires strong management skills and the ability to work with different facets of transit capital projects. This position requires on-site work with client offices, and hiring will be contingent upon client approval. The ideal candidate will have experience working with transit agencies in California experience working with transit agencies such as Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), and Caltrain is highly desirable. The successful candidate shall demonstrate knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local standards and requirements and has an understanding of project delivery processes for various phases of project development such as conceptual design and feasibility, environmental documentation, preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E), and providing Design Support During Construction (DSDC). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum 5 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

  • Master's degree
  • PMP certification
  • Understanding of Traction power systems for various Transit agencies
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and have excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital program engineering design and construction projects or programs in assigned areas from conceptual design through completion; project areas may include Trackwork, station improvements, Traction Power and electrical systems, automated fare collection, and other tasks as needed for state-of-good repair.
  • Perform construction project management duties; prepares cost estimates; prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets; conducts field inspections as required; monitors work in progress.
  • See that the proactive project management system plans, organizes, controls, and evaluates all work.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Implement, monitor, and support company policy.
  • Work with multidiscipline teams and manage technical personnel
  • Perform other duties as needed
