About The Position

The Brand Packaging Project Manager serves as the operational leader that executes packaging across multiple product categories. You will be responsible for managing and delivering brand packaging assets to creative, merchandising, visual, and print vendors to ensure designs are executed and timelines are met. The role focuses heavily on project management aligned to the brand calendar to ensure on-time deliveries. As the Brand Packaging Project Manager, you will partner with cross-functional teams and correspond with vendors to execute packaging designs that ensure brand consistency for all product categories. We are looking for someone with excellent organizational and communication skills who thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment, and is passionate about working at the premier specialty retailer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Graphic Arts, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency MS Office Suite, Smartsheets, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Possesses the ability to work equally collaboratively and autonomously within a team and in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to perform work onsite in the San Francisco office full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day brand packaging production responsibilities including the overall process and timelines.
  • Manages design reproduction -- includes working with designers to advise about vendor printing capabilities, reviewing all layouts for compliance with specs, communicating color & artwork requirements to vendor, reviewing & approving proofs, drawdowns, printed samples.
  • Manage vendor performance/ execution -- includes review of performance standards and WS requirements, communication of packaging components & assembly (label placement, assembly instructions, etc.), review of samples, QA, and troubleshooting, provide recommendations for rework, manage exception process in conjunction with internal teams and external packaging & product vendors.
  • Determine packaging specifications & costs -- includes working with designers to understand graphic concept, negotiating pricing with suppliers, approving specs, communicating pricing to merchants.
  • Manages prepress process -- includes schedule/workflow management, analysis of color proofs and directing color corrections.
  • Operate a computer and communicate via telephone
  • Transport materials and equipment and lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis
