CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager (OPM) to join our PMCM Team in Boston, MA, where you’ll guide municipalities, public institutions, and higher‑education partners through every phase of transformative capital initiatives. In this role, you’ll champion project success, streamline delivery, and help create built environments that support long‑term growth, safety, and community value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, science, planning, engineering management, or a related field required; or equivalent combination of experience and licensure
  • Minimum of 9 years of industry experience required; minimum of 6 years of project management experience required
  • Expert knowledge of project engineering and/or construction principles and schedules required
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and interpreting client contract requirements
  • Experience preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and close out documentation required
  • Proven ability to manage project accounting processes (budgeting, forecasts, and cash management)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required; knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, and/or Deltek Vision preferred
  • Ability to solve problems with urgency and independently drive initiatives from concept to completion while overseeing multiple projects
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and build relationships in a team environment with a primary focus on collaboration
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt style for various audiences
  • Experience utilizing problem-solving skills, exercising discretion, and making independent judgments required
  • Ability to travel as needed required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage cities, towns, and higher education capital projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met
  • Serve as a consultant to clients, assisting in identifying and hiring project employees as well as proactively addressing technical, financial, and logistical project needs
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and Work Breakdown Structures in collaboration with technical teams
  • Coordinate contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and essential project documentation while maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date records
  • Manage all project financials—including budgeting, forecasting, revenue, cash flow, and subcontractor billings—to ensure strong financial performance
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and deliver clear progress updates to clients, management, and project teams in addition to conducting community outreach and project presentations
  • Implement project controls, quality management processes, and health & safety plans to support compliance and successful project delivery
  • Support business development by preparing proposals and collaborating with Market Leaders on growth opportunities
