McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for an experienced NEPA/SEPA Project Manager in our Raleigh, NC office to support our North Carolina transportation market. This position will require a strong understanding of NEPA regulations and environmental requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment working on projects of varying complexities for a variety of clients. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about transportation and communities who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience with NC transportation NEPA/SEPA studies and documentation including other related laws such as Section 4(f) and Section 106
  • Prior NCDOT and municipal client transportation experience is required
  • BS in Environmental studies, planning, or related field
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Has experience working directly with clients and developing client relationships
  • Must possess a valid NC driver's license to travel to various project locations and meetings

  • Master's degree and/or AICP preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Works with an interdisciplinary team to lead planning for a variety of transportation projects for NCDOT and municipalities
  • Draft and review purpose and need statements
  • Manage and complete environmental study and documentation tasks for compliance with NEPA/SEPA, Section 4(f), Section 6(f), and other relevant state and federal regulations and requirements
  • Lead community impact assessments and other socioeconomic studies
  • Conduct public involvement activities
  • Manage background research and expertise to complete feasibility studies
  • Conduct client and agency coordination
  • Support marketing and business development
