Job Summary The Grants Project Manager plays a key role in bringing Mercy Housing’s national grant-funded programs to life. This person leads the design, implementation, and ongoing oversight of select grants, ensuring programs are delivered on time, aligned with funder commitments, and centered around resident needs. This is a highly collaborative role that works across Resident Services, Property Operations, Philanthropy, and regional leadership to ensure programs are implemented consistently and effectively across the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 - 7 years of experience as a project manager managing complex cross-department initiatives
  • Demonstrated knowledge in business development strategies and procedures, Project Management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques.
  • Effective time management, planning, organization skills and facilitate effective meetings.
  • Multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Understand the “big picture” while tracking details.
  • Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or a related field
  • Experience with grant-funded programs or social impact initiatives
  • Background in Economic Mobility best practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and oversight of national grant-funded programs from planning through execution
  • Translate grant proposals into clear, actionable implementation plans with defined timelines and responsibilities
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure programs are executed consistently across regions
  • Track progress against milestones, deliverables, and budgets, and proactively address risks or delays
  • Identify challenges and partner with internal teams to develop solutions and keep projects on track
  • Ensure programs are resident-centered, incorporating feedback and adapting to real-world needs
  • Support evaluation efforts and help document best practices for continuous improvement
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on program progress and outcomes
