About The Position

The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project leadership and guidance that supports successful program execution in accordance with the budget, schedule, contract, Statement of Work (SOW) and technical specifications.
  • Focal point for establishing project or small program execution goals and strategy in a fast-paced and often dynamic environment. Assist in the creation of a vision that energizes and enables the team to win.
  • Responsible for the project or small program’s major metrics – sales, bookings, profit, and the customer relationship.
  • Help to define, secure, organize and direct staff, resources, standards, processes, procedures, and tools essential for the successful completion of a project or small program.
  • Review and evaluate the project status on a continuing basis and work unplanned issues to a best solution, including development of plans-forward, escalation and increased resources, as required.
  • Work closely with Strategic Business Unit (SBU) management to communicate project progress and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Work with Strategic Capabilities Unit (SCU) management to ensure the project is staffed with appropriate skill levels and that work is being accomplished according to plan.
  • Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations.
  • Identify and ensure required compliance with the government and company regulation, policies/procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure that project requirements, purposes, objectives, and expectations are communicated and flowed down to the internal team and subcontractors.
  • Employ proactive risk & opportunity management processes and practices to mitigate or capture potential program issues and improvements.
  • Employ Earned Value (EV) and Earned Value Management (EVM) processes and practices including variance reporting.
  • Lead change proposal efforts for project including pre-coordination with customer to establish expectations.
  • Participate in proposal preparation activities in support of new business capture opportunities with existing and/or new customers and programs.
  • Lead technical, contracts, and subcontracts staff in monitoring performance of subcontractors performing on the contract.
  • Create a motivational environment where team members understand the mission, are fully engaged and empowered to execute, and are recognized for their performance.
  • Resolve conflicts, demands and priorities on assigned projects.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
