About The Position

As a Project Manager - Low Voltage Systems at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in managing the planning, coordination, and execution of low voltage projects across multiple sites. This position requires strong project management, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communication skills, and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of structured cabling and technology infrastructure. You will collaborate with field supervisors, subcontractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders, ensuring that all phases of the project lifecycle—from preconstruction through execution—are aligned with business goals and client expectations. This is a hybrid role with occasional on-site attendance, primarily supporting our operations in Phoenix, AZ or Austin, TX, with up to 25% travel if based outside those metro areas. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in cross-functional leadership, excels at managing complex timelines, and is skilled at solving problems in fast-paced construction or technology environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in project management for low voltage, structured cabling, or related systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, IT, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling, CCTV, access control, AV, Wi-Fi, and BMS systems
  • Familiar with industry standards such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI best practices
  • Experienced in managing project budgets, schedules, and vendor contracts
  • Proficient in MS Office and project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for site support and coordination

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages schedules, budgets, and deliverables for low voltage system installations
  • Coordinates with design teams, consultants, and clients to ensure scope alignment and resolve design discrepancies
  • Leads preconstruction efforts including scope reviews, vendor onboarding, and submittal tracking
  • Partners with Field Supervisors to align onsite execution with project timelines and specifications
  • Oversees subcontractor performance and enforces quality and safety standards
  • Conducts regular project meetings to track milestones, address issues, and maintain team alignment
  • Monitors project budgets and financial performance to ensure compliance with targets
  • Negotiates vendor pricing and manages the impact of scope changes
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation including RFIs, submittals, drawings, and as-builts
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery
