About The Position

As a Practice Group Partner on the Practice Group Enablement team within Legal Enablement & Operations (LEO), you will advance Global Legal & Compliance’s (GL&C) seamless delivery of expert legal services through process and technology optimization. You will serve as the dedicated liaison to aligned Practice Group(s), working directly with Legal Leaders coordinating and leading key initiatives in areas such as workflow management, knowledge management, and process optimization to maximize value for GL&C, Liberty, and our customers. The role will manage projects that are non-cyclical and varied, aligning with the project management life cycle (initiating/defining; planning; executing; close-out) and supporting business priorities. May also perform some project work, such as research and analysis. Works under minimal direction from manager on more complex tasks.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and concepts.
  • Proven ability to manage the project management life cycle for projects of varying complexity.
  • Proficient with project management tools.
  • Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
  • Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 6+ years of relevant experience to include project management work.

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven business operations knowledge to include understanding the function's value chain and market conditions strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Insurance or Legal Operations Experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads moderately complex to complex projects
  • Defines the business case with input from stakeholders. Identifies and gains agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resources
  • Plans activities/tasks that will deliver the desired results and oversees day-to-day work and monitoring of progress towards goals
  • Conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of projects to stakeholders within and beyond the project team.
  • Acts as the “Voice of the Practice Group” in prioritization discussions on behalf of aligned Practice Groups
  • Provide consultative process optimization support in areas such as GenAI, process, business process outsourcing, resource & demand management
  • Maintain market awareness of legal innovation & technology trends
  • Partner with other Legal Operations functions (Reporting & Analytics, Legal Technology, and Product Owners) to ensure alignment of service delivery and a common understanding of Practice Group goals & vision
  • Help understand technology needs, vet incoming requests, and interface with technology organization on Practice Group needs
  • Directs stakeholders towards consensus points and typically gains buy-in of recommendations
  • Escalates and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk. Identifies and provides visibility into trade-offs between options and influences recommended approach
  • In addition to project management, may also perform some of the work defined in the project roles and responsibilities
  • Performs project close-out steps, including identifying lessons learned/best practices to inform the success of future projects. Applies continuous improvement methodologies throughout the project management lifecycle.
