The Project Manager, Janitorial & Custodial Services provides full operational oversight of the Defense General Supply Center Richmond janitorial services contract, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery. Requirements

  • Candidates must be high school graduates; a college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of management or supervisory experience in janitorial, custodial, or a related field is required, along with a strong working knowledge of janitorial methods, procedures, and safety standards.
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication, organizational, budgeting, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage operations independently or collaboratively.
  • Computer proficiency and adaptability to new technologies are essential.
  • A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record is required, along with the ability to travel to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day janitorial operations
  • Supervise staff to ensure compliance with agency standards, safety requirements, and contract expectations
  • Developing and managing work schedules
  • Delegating and tracking work orders
  • Monitoring staffing needs
  • Overseeing hiring and performance management for direct and indirect reports
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Program Analysis staff to track trends, address training needs, generate quotes, and support service improvements
  • Managing vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Purchasing supplies and equipment
  • Reviewing financials
  • Approving payroll and timecards
  • Documenting operational procedures
  • Conducting regular site visits and customer walk-throughs across multiple locations
  • Collaborate with internal support teams to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with all agency policies and regulatory requirements.
