About The Position

As a Project Manager IV in the Corridors Program Office, you will manage various projects with general supervision and serve as a contract manager for projects assigned to consultant firms. You will stay up-to-date on current processes and procedures, administrative and engineering policies relative to consultant contracts and plans production.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and four years of continuous employment experience or three years of higher education with a cumulative of 72 semester hours or 108 quarter hours.
  • Knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation Project Management policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, laws and regulations governing the project development and design of transportation facilities.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, construction, production and/or operations.
  • Skill in using engineering tools, equipment and/or instruments.
  • Skill in monitoring project schedules and coordinating phases of design.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Manages various types of Corridor Planning, Concept Development, Project Development, and Environmental (PD&E) Studies.
  • Oversees, interacts, plans, and directs the work of concept development addressing multi-modal transportation needs.
  • Coordinates phases of work between consultants and other disciplines to maintain schedules and projected production letting dates.
  • Serves as a contract manager for projects assigned to consultant firms.
  • Develops contract scope of services and coordinates activities related to initiation, advertisement, and execution of contracts.
  • Coordinates, reviews and approves invoices.
  • Prepares, coordinates and negotiates Supplemental Agreements as required.
  • Conducts briefings for upper management, other Departments, elected and appointed officials, and the general public.
  • Monitors projects for construction costs increases throughout the design phase.
  • Provides periodic project status reports to management.
  • Stays up-to-date on current processes and procedures, administrative and engineering policies relative to consultant contracts and plans production.
