We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join the Viasat Government team. In this role, you will manage the Portfolio Roadmap & associated Governance as well as high-profile projects aimed at redefining and future-proofing the current portfolio in line with the Next Gen Multi-Orbit Satellite strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience running multiple complex projects simultaneously as well as establishing and running large cross-functional teams in a global environment.

  • Manage the Portfolio Roadmap tracking, reporting & risk/issues management.
  • Plan, manage, and report on cost vs budget.
  • Work with Central PMO to ensure timely progress through Product Life-Cycle gates.
  • Communicate and enforce Product Life-Cycle governance across the Business Unit.
  • Act as the SPOC for Business Unit Portfolio Roadmap reporting and governance.
  • Drive governance process improvement in line with Business Unit needs.
  • Create project charters, scope documents, and work breakdown structures.
  • Achieve project objectives on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Identify and agree on workstream definitions, deliverables, owners, and milestones.
  • Manage project risk and issues.
  • Be responsible for the project plan and prioritize concurrent activities where necessary.
  • Manage communications with stakeholders, ensuring the scope and objectives of the project are clearly understood.
  • Establish regular project and steering board review meetings to ensure key stakeholders are engaged and aligned.
  • Own project dashboards.
  • Identify resources required and flag resource constraints/challenges.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Programme/Project Manager role.
  • Knowledge and experience of Product Life-Cycle Management.
  • Demonstrable experience leading multiple product developments simultaneously.
  • Project delivery using best practice methodologies and Project Manager tools.
  • Familiarity with multiple delivery frameworks: APM, PRINCE2, Agile, PMI, PMBOK etc.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience of team in a challenging environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated & autonomous.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of the complexities surrounding collaboration in a global organization.
  • Ability to remain positive in high pressure and stressful situations.
  • Very well organized with a proven ability to multi-task.
  • Critical thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Independent problem solver.
  • Confident and articulate with senior leaders.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office packages as well as Project Server, MS Project, and SharePoint.
  • Experience working with and delivering services and projects related to managed services and/or network infrastructure.
  • Experience in Satellite Communications industry.
