About The Position

The position involves creating project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for various projects, utilizing lessons learned from previous experiences. The role requires preparing detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures and obtaining approval from both internal and external stakeholders. The project manager will assess potential project risks and outline risk mitigation solutions, ensuring adherence to company and project management policies, procedures, and practices. Responsibilities include managing project costs to ensure profitability, identifying and communicating residual risks, and overseeing timely client billings and payments. The project manager will also review and approve subcontractor/vendor invoices, perform ongoing project status reviews, and monitor project risks, implementing necessary mitigation strategies. Change management protocols will be followed to manage project changes, and the project manager will work closely with team members and stakeholders to adjust project requirements and schedules as needed. Safety plans will be reviewed and implemented, and timely responses to audit corrective actions will be required. The role also involves planning and conducting work that requires independent judgment in the evaluation and application of engineering or construction techniques. Guidance will be provided to various project team members, and the project manager will develop and implement project resource plans, manage staffing, and communicate project deadlines and objectives clearly. Building and maintaining strong client relationships is crucial, ensuring client satisfaction through quality project outcomes and managing expectations. The project manager will identify opportunities for change orders and repeat business, collaborating with sales leaders to evaluate potential new work and support scoping and costing efforts. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire or promotion.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Create project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives using lessons learned.

  • Gain concurrence and approval from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assess potential project risks and outline risk mitigation solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to company and project management policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Manage project costs and ensure profitability.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate residual risks (time and cost).
  • Create and review timely client billings with internal billing support.
  • Ensure timely client payment and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Review and approve subcontractor/vendor invoices for timely payment.
  • Perform ongoing review of project status and monitor project risks.
  • Manage project change using change management protocols.
  • Work with team members and stakeholders to manage changes to project requirements and schedule.
  • Ensure proper review of project scope by safety managers and implementation of safety plans.
  • Respond to audit corrective actions identified by audits.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation and application of engineering techniques.
  • Provide guidance to project team members and contractors.
  • Develop and implement project resource plans and manage staffing.
  • Clearly communicate project deadlines, assignments, and objectives to team members.
  • Assign work and provide direction to project staff.
  • Coach project staff and provide feedback on performance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time project outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for change orders and repeat business.
