The Project Manager II will oversee the planning, management, and execution of complex life-cycle projects within the Compliance & Public Policy sector. This role is crucial for developing detailed project plans, managing resources, and ensuring successful delivery of solutions that align with strategic objectives. The Project Manager II will collaborate cross-functionally to implement service innovations, drive process improvements, and support organizational changes.

  • Lead the full life cycle of projects, from defining project scope, objectives, and milestones to implementation and closeout.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and budget tracking.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate progress, and address project risks and issues.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, adhering to company standards and methodologies.
  • Manage and direct project teams, ensuring accountability and providing leadership throughout the project's duration.
  • Facilitate regular status updates and communication with stakeholders at all levels, including executive reporting and presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project performance and outcomes.
  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure proper project documentation, including the creation of user manuals, training materials, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Identify and minimize project risks or constraints that would impact project deliverables.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve branch/division/department areas of concern, or cross-organizational that may impede or impact other projects/initiatives.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with customers' expectations.
  • Monitor and control risks to ensure timelines are met and project goals are attained.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for project management and related issues.
  • Promote team building and skills development of project team members.
  • Manage multiple, moderately complex projects.
  • Solve moderate to complex project-related problems.
  • Interact effectively with managers and division/department management concerning projects.
  • Build relationships with management and key stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, including contract definition, monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Strong proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience leading and/or managing small projects or portions of larger projects.
  • Experience participating in, and/or managing, cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of project lifecycles, project management methodologies, and business requirements analysis.
  • Experience working with all levels of staff, management, and vendors.
  • Proficiency with PCs and related software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and project management applications).
  • Strong planning, organization, and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in leading, guiding, and mentoring others.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in effectively building relationships with and influence team members, management, vendors, and a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skill in presenting findings and conclusions clearly and concisely to stakeholders and management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge of Navy Federal's, or other financial institutions', operations
  • Working knowledge of Navy Federal's Project Portfolio Management (PPM) standards
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of Workfront
  • Extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary project lifecycles for financial institutions.
