About the position

This job opportunity is in the Driver License Bureau located in Canton, MS, within Madison County. The Project Manager II position is a first-level project management coordinator responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring various components of agency projects. The primary focus of this role is to create a comprehensive plan and implement the driver's education program in collaboration with other agencies. This position serves as the main contact for the initiative, which includes creating and adopting rules and regulations, as well as implementing a statewide training program for new drivers in Mississippi. The Project Manager II will assist in project planning, monitor the operation of program activities, and supervise the achievement of project goals and objectives. Responsibilities may include identifying necessary resources, developing project plans, establishing timelines, and measuring project outcomes. The employee will maintain communication with agency divisions, outside organizations, and the general public, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the role may involve performing other duties as assigned by supervision, which could encompass a variety of project management tasks to support the agency's mission of enhancing public safety in Mississippi.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the driver's education program in conjunction with other agencies.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience.
  • Experience in Project Management is preferred.
