The Project Manager II at MUSC is responsible for leading and managing project work within the ePMO, focusing on planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities. This role involves stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting updates to ensure successful project execution in the academic, research, and healthcare system portfolios.

  • Analyze, initiate, plan, execute, and closeout projects and ePMO initiatives as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Exhibit strong project initiation and planning activities, including justifying and planning projects with defined scopes and requirements.
  • Manage all project management activities, updates, and reporting across existing and new application implementations.
  • Ensure accurate recording and timely resolution of project issues, change requests, and risks, maintaining up-to-date project documentation.
  • Execute approved projects to meet customer expectations, deadlines, and budgets, managing stakeholder expectations and project resources.
  • Proactively manage risks and issues to deliver projects according to scope.
  • Organize, manage, and lead the project team to success, building strong relationships with colleagues and system partners.
  • Utilize change management to control scope and communicate scope changes.
  • Track and report project progress and forecast trends, providing concise and timely status reporting as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related field required and four years of Project Management experience, OR Master's degree and two years of Project Management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project management certification required.
  • At least 1-2 years of direct management experience and leading a team.
  • Experience using SharePoint, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel required.
  • Experience leading projects from initiation to closeout, particularly in healthcare-related projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, including project planning, risk/issue management, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
