About The Position

The Project Manager II leads and executes sustaining engineering projects that support the ongoing performance, quality, compliance, and manufacturability of existing products. This role drives initiatives focused on product improvements, cost optimization, supply‑chain continuity, and resolution of field or manufacturing issues. The position works cross‑functionally to ensure projects are well‑scoped, effectively planned, and delivered on time and within budget. Strong project leadership, communication, and risk‑management skills are essential to maintain alignment and ensure successful outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4–6 years of project‑management experience in engineering, manufacturing, or product lifecycle environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently with strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, financial reporting, and risk management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certification such as PMP or CAPM.
  • Additional beneficial experience with Agile, Scrum, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to support product reliability, compliance, manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and long‑term business continuity.
  • Willingness to travel domestically on occasion for customer visits or training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sustaining engineering projects (WRs, initiatives, etc.) focused on product improvements, quality issues, cost‑reduction opportunities, supply‑chain support, and regulatory/compliance updates.
  • Define project scope, develop project plans, and coordinate cross‑functional activities with Product Lifecycle (Sustaining) Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Product Management/CPE.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones, and performance, providing timely updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Conduct project reviews to evaluate progress, risks, resource needs, and impacts on cost, manufacturability, and product performance.
  • Identify and escalate risks or issues that require cross‑functional or leadership intervention to keep projects on track.
  • Manage scope changes and assess their impact on timelines, budgets, and product costs.
  • Maintain effective communication and alignment across all departments throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project‑management tools, processes, and best practices within PLE.
  • Lead project closeout activities, ensuring documentation, lessons learned, and handoffs are completed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
