About The Position

The Project Manager II for Ground Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of landscaping and grounds maintenance projects. This role includes managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and meeting performance contract targets. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and clients, particularly in both English and Spanish.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must pass a driving background check, a criminal background check, and a drug test.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
  • Three to five years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience in project management, grounds maintenance, or landscaping is required.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Advanced knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, and techniques.
  • Computer knowledge in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • General knowledge of departmental budget concepts, cost analysis, and contract procurement.
  • Must meet Department of Transportation requirements to operate a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA).
  • Must obtain medical examiner's certification and pesticide license and maintain licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of ground maintenance and landscaping projects, ensuring high-quality results and timely completion.
  • Supervise and train staff, including assigning responsibilities and mentoring team members, fostering an inclusive work culture.
  • Perform administrative functions including scheduling, asset control, resource allocation, purchasing, and budget oversight.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and community partners in both English and Spanish.
  • Develop professional competencies and obtain necessary certifications in new areas of development.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies and procedures.
  • Make decisions regarding supply needs and ensure performance contract targets are met.
  • Act as the first contact in contract negotiations and issue resolution.
  • Work safely and ensure all staff follow the company Safety Program.
  • Coordinate the implementation of ISO standards and ensure customer quality requirements are met.
  • Train new hires in company policies and procedures and conduct annual training with fellow managers.
  • Monitor equipment and supplies for functionality and availability.
  • Maintain detailed records of project progress and performance metrics.

  • Full-time salaried position with a salary range of $48,000 to $55,000 annually depending on experience.
