About The Position

The Project Manager - Construction and Maintenance is involved in the management of various construction projects across the Corporation as directed. This position oversees contractor/vendor selection through competitive pricing and contract review to scope of work, coordinates work assignments with all internal and external stake holders, sets agreed to timelines for completion, adjusts timelines as necessary, ensures work is completed to agreed upon specifications, handles invoice auditing and payments, ensures project quality, liaise between contractor and local Service Center manager, and communicates regularly with the Director, Engineering and Construction regarding ongoing and future projects. The Project Manager - Construction and Maintenance requires frequent travel to various job sites.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management or Engineering, preferred Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Experience: 4 years project management and construction experience, preferred
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Procore.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)® - Project Management Institute within 1-1/2 Yrs, preferred
  • Competencies: Accuracy and Attention to Detail Conflict Management Construction Contract Management Construction Inspection Contractor Relationship Management Decision Making and Critical Thinking Problem Solving Project Management

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate with all internal departments involved to ensure timely completion of defined scope of work.
  • Work with others in the department to assess size of projects and remedial actions, repairs, restorations, expansions, and relocations to determine the ultimate scope of work.
  • Supervise and advise on projects, interacting with both company personnel and construction/engineering firms.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Company management throughout the system.
  • Interpret the needs of our operating companies regarding ongoing facility development, maintenance, and construction.
  • Assist in preparing preliminary plans and all details for projects, as well as manage the ongoing process of changes and revisions to a multitude of projects of all different sizes and scopes.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements that meet scope of work requirements.
  • Work with contractor to address and resolve hidden or unknown scope of work items to minimize budgetary impact.
  • Review and assess vendor, contractor, and engineering work proposals to ensure they meet project specifications.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, to specifications, and on budget.
  • Maintain and update accessible electronic and hard copy construction documents.
  • Document and maintain effective records of all projects and events.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
