About The Position

The Project Manager position is responsible for assisting in general engineering and maintenance duties and manage projects. This position reports to the Director of Operations. This position resides at the St. Rose Terminal, but is also responsible for duties at the Avondale terminal.

Requirements

  • Engineering or Construction Manager Degree required, PMP certification is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT’s terminal locations.
  • EAM, Microsoft Projects, Word, Excel, Capbase
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.
  • Must possess excellent external and internal communication skills, written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work closely with others with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others.
  • Ability to represent IMTT in a professional and positive manner.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects in a frequently changing work environment
  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interact with vendors, service providers, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
  • This is a non-exempt, hourly position.
  • Employees are scheduled to work assigned shifts within a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • All hours worked must be accurately recorded, and overtime is paid in accordance with FLSA and company policy.
  • Occasional travel over 25% may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.

  • This job operates in an office environment as well as the outside environment and in differing weather conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The large scale of the operation and the extensive layout of the facility require that the employee have the ability to walk and stand on uneven terrain, to climb stairs and ladders, and traverse inclines: uphill, downhill or mixed. Because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
  • Must be able to work in a confined space, work over water, climb stairs and not be afraid of heights.
  • Must be capable of wearing respirator and/or other PPE during some operations or emergencies. This would require the ability to lift to 25 pounds, bend, stand, or stoop, as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in general engineering and maintenance word duties
  • Generate and maintain work orders and close out after completion of project
  • Review project drawings and specifications
  • Assist estimating with takeoffs and review contractor proposals
  • Assist project Engineer
  • Pre-construction planning schedules and meetings
  • Develop and analyze project financial projection
  • Monitor quality, production and safety
  • Estimate small projects
  • Create work requisitions
  • Initiate MOCs
  • Review change orders and red line drawings during construction
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
