About The Position

Healthier Generation is a leading children’s health non-profit that promotes equitable whole child health so that every mind, every body, and every young person can be healthy.  and ready to succeed.  We believe a dedicated, intensified movement that centers equity in health practices and policies wherever kids live, learn and play is required to achieve dramatic improvements in the health and the life outcomes of Black, Indigenous, People of Color, as well as communities experiencing deep poverty. Healthier Generation works nationally and locally with schools and school districts, youth-serving organizations, businesses, and communities – building their capacity to create healthier environments where young people can thrive. Our work, in total, has reached more than 31 million children and meaningfully improved environments to support the physical, social, and emotional health of the next generation, especially those from underserved communities. Our programs are evidence-based and evidence-informed, supported by a robust digital/virtual/live training platform and action center, as well as direct-to-community services. Through Healthier Generation programs, products and services, more children nationwide are gaining the opportunity to build a healthy future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education and experience
  • 3 years of experience working in schools, public health, out-of-school time, or other youth environments.
  • Partnership cultivation, convening, and engagement experience at the local, regional, and state level.
  • Extensive experience facilitating structured meetings, trainings, and collaborative engagements for diverse audiences.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and engage partners, fostering meaningful and sustainable relationships
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear, effective, and accurate delivery of complex information.
  • Proactive self‑starter who operates independently and takes full ownership of results and deliverables.
  • Must be comfortable promoting vaccine-related initiatives in alignment with Healthier Generation’s public health mission
  • Must reside within a 2-hour drive of Fayette and/or Pulaski Counties.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10–30% as needed

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building and Partnership Engagement Establishing, building, and maintaining key relationships with community organizations and other stakeholders by identifying their needs, working to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Identifying and recruiting partners and schools/districts to join and participate in Healthier Generation's initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and colleagues to identify opportunities to co-design and co-facilitate goal setting and action planning initiatives supporting communities and projects supported.
  • Stewardship Report progress and results through formal and informal reporting procedures, including contributing to grant reports, providing project updates, and tracking progress using various technology systems.
  • Cultivate, write and promote success stories, best practices and lessons learned to highlight community impact, support knowledge management and advance funding opportunities
  • Program Delivery Tailor, implement and manage the delivery of Healthier Generation’s capacity building and awareness strategies and initiatives towards community, organizational and/or specific grant goals and deliverables.
  • Conduct and provide technical assistance to partnering schools, districts and organizations utilizing Healthier Generation's Action Center and other tools and resources.
  • Understand and implement Healthier Generation's Theory of Change and Strategic Framework to align with project(s) goals and deliverables.
