The Project Manager (FSD-Redevelopment Services) will be responsible for managing the implementation of the City of Austin's redevelopment projects, including significant community development initiatives. This role involves overseeing various aspects of project delivery, ensuring compliance with design standards, and engaging with community stakeholders. The position requires collaboration with diverse teams and a focus on improving community infrastructure and services.

  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of redevelopment projects.
  • Review site plans, architectural and construction drawings for compliance with design standards.
  • Coordinate project determination and delivery in areas such as transportation, utilities, and real estate.
  • Manage consultant services, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
  • Develop short- and long-range plans for ongoing projects, estimating timelines for completion.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence for City management and Council offices.
  • Deliver presentations to management and department directors.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to City management and contractors.
  • Supervise and lead project management staff as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or major coursework in project management.
  • Six years of progressively responsible work experience in managing projects.
  • Knowledge of project accounting and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with laws, rules, regulations, and codes associated with project assignments.
  • Knowledge of engineering and architectural design principles.
  • Experience with land use and building regulations.
  • Familiarity with urban design principles and standards.
  • Ability to interpret legal descriptions of leases and real estate documentation.
