The Project Manager for Special Projects at SUNY Old Westbury is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to the development of the Finance Lab and upgrades to the Media and Innovation Center. This role involves managing multiple tasks and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that all projects meet specified objectives within established timelines and budgets. The position is temporary, full-time, for one year, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management, faculty, and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Track all aspects of construction, renovations, and alterations projects including RFI logs, change order logs, daily progress reports, project budgets, project schedules, and warranty limits.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental renovation projects including scheduling and notifications.
  • Identify and secure necessary resources, ensuring effective allocation across projects.
  • Lead and manage project teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Oversee day-to-day project activities, monitor progress, and adjust plans as necessary to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and objectives outlined in the project plan.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management.
