The Project Manager for Filling, Formulation, Preparation, and GMP Design at Pfizer's Rocky Mount, NC site is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of assigned capital projects. This includes preparing project scopes, budgets, and schedules, as well as overseeing the specification, purchase, installation, and qualification of production and automation equipment. The role requires providing technical support to manufacturing operations and acting as a subject matter expert in equipment and systems. The Project Manager will also lead improvement projects, manage ongoing engineering projects, and ensure compliance with best practices in project management.

  • Manage multiple projects and ongoing work activities of moderate complexity.
  • Guide the successful completion of major capital programs and contribute to team and plant goals.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Drive key aspects of the annual budget process, working closely with Finance and Operations.
  • Assure appropriate performance metrics are in use for responsible plant area.
  • Identify and recommend specific areas for change to meet cost, quality, supply, or new product goals.
  • Facilitate and partner with operations colleagues to lead a culture of standard work and continuous improvement.
  • Lead improvement projects to deliver results in cost reduction, quality, supply, or safety.
  • Manage and review status of ongoing projects, develop new projects, and track benefits of completed projects.
  • Support the development of talent and capabilities of team members.
  • High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 10 years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree with 8 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience, or a master's degree with more than 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 0+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and CAD (or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good people management skills, direct or indirect management.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience managing process equipment projects.
  • Background in manufacturing, automation, and utility support systems.
  • Knowledge of regulations applicable to the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., FDA and EPA).
  • Experience with Life Cycle Asset Management.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification.
  • Experience in project-oriented admin/cost control/management.
  • Strong managerial or supervisory experience in Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to develop a team of technical resources.
  • Technical expertise in pharmaceutical processing equipment.
  • 6 Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified.
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or CEM (Certified Energy Manager).
