Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is seeking a Project Manager for a Federal Contract to support the Senior Project Director and Deputy Project Director in managing a large, complex federal services contract aimed at providing legal representation to unaccompanied children facing immigration proceedings in the U.S. The Project Manager will oversee the direct implementation of project deliverables and provide day-to-day support to paralegals, attorneys, and interpreters/translators delivering services. This role is crucial in ensuring that KIND and its subcontractors deliver high-quality, trauma-informed legal services to eligible unaccompanied children in accordance with the contract requirements. The position is contingent upon securing a contract from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for legal service providers, maintaining current knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures related to the contract's scope of work. This includes coordinating with Regional Program Managers to ensure effective service delivery and consistency across offices. The Project Manager will also assist in identifying training needs for legal service providers and support the development and implementation of training and technical assistance. In addition to overseeing legal services, the Project Manager will collaborate with various internal teams, including Operations, Finance, Development, Technology, and Human Resources, to support project administration. This includes managing meeting agendas, tracking follow-ups, and implementing project management systems to ensure that all tasks are completed and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration legal services, experience working with youth, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
