About The Position

We are seeking a highly capable Project Manager / Estimator to oversee heavy-civil, sitework, and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through completion. This role bridges estimating and project management to ensure projects are accurately scoped, competitively bid, and delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy-civil, site-development, earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, or similar civil construction projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil/site plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong estimating skills: quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, bid preparation, and cost control.
  • Solid project management, scheduling, and resource allocation experience.
  • Familiarity with modern construction technology, including GPS-equipped equipment, digital documentation, and field mobility tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills for budgeting, cost tracking, and profitability analysis.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to visit and manage field job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, drawings, specifications, and scope documents for sitework, earthmoving, utilities, concrete, and paving projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor scope, overhead, contingencies, and indirect costs.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, concrete, asphalt, utilities, and related civil works.
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and propose value-engineering alternatives.
  • Maintain cost and historical pricing records for future estimating accuracy.
  • Develop project execution plans, timelines, resource allocations, procurement schedules, and logistics plans.
  • Coordinate equipment, crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely project execution.
  • Use digital tools to plan, track, and monitor work.
  • Supervise field operations to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
  • Monitor progress, handle on-site issues or scope changes, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Track actual vs. estimated costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Manage change orders and communicate cost or schedule impacts to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation: daily reports, progress updates, field logs, equipment logs, and project close-out records.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • Present bids, clarify scope and assumptions, and support bid negotiations.
  • Coordinate across internal teams to align pre-construction plans with field execution.
