About The Position

Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending sales meetings to review bid statuses and receive new assignments. This role involves promoting the company through trade association functions and cultivating customer relations via various means such as meetings and outings. The candidate will prepare detailed standardized quote letters and bids for prime bidders, follow up on bids, and contact customers to determine competitiveness while analyzing scope differences with competitors. Additionally, the role requires analyzing drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine the full scope of work, anticipating job site working conditions, and performing take-offs and pricing worksheets with the estimating team as required. The candidate must understand the technology and materials being used to evaluate requests from architects and contractors. The position also involves logging all bid follow-ups in the Alpha Sales database, conferring with the Sales Manager to negotiate prices and scope of work, and performing job file set-ups upon bid awards. The candidate will prepare and forward submittals to contractors, compute cost factors, and prepare estimates for management purposes. Collaboration with production teams, manufacturer representatives, and contractors is essential to resolve construction problems and improve methods. The role includes conducting job site visits, attending meetings, and inspecting work for progress and quality. The candidate will also interface with contractors or customers to address concerns, prepare reports on progress, and follow up with clients regarding unpaid invoices. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in commercial construction as a superintendent, project manager, or estimator.
  • Division 7 experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend sales meetings to review bid statuses and receive new assignments.
  • Promote the company through trade association functions and cultivate customer relations via various means such as meetings and outings.
  • Prepare detailed standardized quote letters and bids for prime bidders.
  • Follow up on bids, contact customers to determine competitiveness, and analyze scope differences with competitors.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine the full scope of work.
  • Anticipate job site working conditions such as working heights and difficulty of material installation.
  • Perform and review take-offs and pricing worksheets with the estimating team as required.
  • Review and price RFI's, RFP's, and any new construction documents issued by Client in a timely manner.
  • Understand the technology and materials being used to evaluate requests from architects and contractors.
  • Log all bid follow-up with customers in the Alpha Sales database.
  • Confer with the Sales Manager to negotiate the price and scope of work included in the bid.
  • Perform job file set-up according to the Procedure Manual upon contract award.
  • Negotiate prices and scope of work with sales representatives.
  • Prepare and forward submittals to contractors for review and approval.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes.
  • Confer with production teams to assess requirements regarding scheduling, manpower, materials, deliveries, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with manufacturer representatives and contractors to resolve construction problems.
  • Research technology and materials to comprehend inquiries from architects and contractors.
  • Conduct job site visits, attend meetings, and inspect work for progress, quality, and adherence to schedules.
  • Interface with contractors or customers to address concerns and initiate timely documentation.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or other parties to resolve issues.
  • Anticipate and address deviations from plans or schedules.
  • Prepare reports on progress, materials, and site visits.
  • Contribute to production meetings and assist in billing projections.
  • Follow up with clients regarding unpaid invoices.
  • Review job costing, evaluate quantities and production rates, and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Identify business development opportunities and sales projections.
  • Submit reimbursement requests, mileage reports, and time-off requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
