About The Position

The Catherine Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine, in partnership with the Maine CDC, is seeking a Project Manager, Epidemiology. The Project Manager [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g_rKQmgkdnJX3oJv122iHbkshmoqOyDV/view?usp=sharing] provides support for the USM Disease Prevention Epidemiology (DP Epi) Team. This position is responsible for managing a wide range of fiscal, operations, and project management activities of the DP Epi Team cooperative agreements and contracts, working closely with the DP Epi Leadership to ensure timely completion of project tasks and deliverables. The DP Epi team is a USM team dedicated to building epidemiology capacity in chronic disease, maternal and child health, and substance use and injury at USM and the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in project management including management and monitoring of contracts, fiscal reporting, hiring processes, project administration, exceptional communication, organization and time management skills as well as familiarity with and ability to work within the University’s organizational systems and structures. This is a grant funded position with a starting annual salary up to $75,000. This can be a remote or hybrid position working out of our Portland location.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree and five to seven years of experience managing projects or equivalent combination of higher education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large projects and budgets over $1 million with multiple funding streams.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative to identify and propose new tasks and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work on a variety of large and small teams with diverse groups of people.
  • Flexibility in meeting the varied needs of a large team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
