About The Position

As a Project Manager based in our Orange, CA Laboratory, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing clients’ projects through all phases of laboratory operations. This includes project set-up in the laboratory database, initiating field supply orders, sample login review, tracking project progress, and ensuring timely report and data delivery. You will foster positive client and colleague relationships, act as a liaison, and ensure the accuracy of project-specific requirements. The role requires knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and the ability to communicate effectively with clients about sample submissions. You will also prioritize your workday based on deadlines and workload, provide support to sales staff, and comply with the company’s Quality Assurance Program and Health and Safety Plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the chemical, environmental, physical or biological sciences.
  • 2-5 years of project management experience.
  • Ability to work on-site.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of environmental-related testing experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) software experience.
  • Experience working for an environmental laboratory company.
  • Familiarity with analytical chemistry processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust to frequent changes and altered priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage clients’ projects through all phases of laboratory operations.
  • Set up projects in the laboratory database and maintain client contact information.
  • Initiate field supply orders and review sample logins.
  • Deliver acknowledgment letters and communicate any anomalies or analytical issues.
  • Track project progress and update all required databases.
  • Ensure timely report and data delivery.
  • Foster and develop positive client and colleague relationships.
  • Anticipate possible problems or inconsistencies and drive mid-course changes.
  • Ensure accuracy of project-specific requirements.
  • Communicate with clients about sample submissions and hazardous substances.
  • Work closely with the lab to ensure communication of turn-around-times and sample issues.
  • Prioritize work based on deadlines and workload.
  • Support sales staff and participate in audits as requested.
  • Comply with Quality Assurance Program and Health and Safety Plan.
