Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering in areas such as evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, wastewater conveyance and water distribution systems.
• A minimum of 3 years of water or wastewater engineering project management experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• A current Minnesota PE license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains associated with construction projects.
• Excellent organizational and communications skills.

Nice To Haves

• A Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Proven business development experience.
• Experience mentoring, developing, and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management and process design for new water/wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
• Review existing water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Prepare reports for proposed equipment/systems upgrades and replacements.
• Present findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct business development and develop client relationships in the water/wastewater industry.
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply various treatment technologies, equipment, and processes to optimize performance or ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Develop specifications and drawings such as process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for senior drafting technicians.
• Assess impact of changing DOH, EPA and MPCA regulations for specific client needs.
• Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews, field verification of designs, proposal presentations, and business development activities.
