Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Project Manager to be located in Jacksonville, FL. The Project Manager leads the strategy, execution, and delivery of large-scale transformation initiatives within a live, high-volume Distribution Center. This role requires hands-on leadership, deep operational expertise, and the ability to orchestrate multiple concurrent workstreams while ensuring stability, safety, and performance throughout the lifecycle of the transformation. The PM guides teams through complex operational, technological, and organizational change, serving as a key influencer and decision driver across the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 6 -8 years of extensive experience leading large-scale operational transformations within distribution, fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
  • Direct experience driving distribution center change initiatives such as greenfield startups, facility expansions, major process redesigns, or WMS/automation implementations.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes, labor models, WMS platforms, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • PMP, Lean, or Six Sigma certificate
  • Position location; Jacksonville, FL (fully onsite)

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex DC transformation programs, including scoping, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Apply rigorous project management methodologies to track milestones, manage scope, and maintain execution discipline across concurrent workstreams operating within an active distribution environment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed, cross-functional project plans that integrate inputs from Operations, Engineering, IT, HR, Commercial, and vendor partners.
  • Oversee daily project progress with strong governance, ensuring visibility into timelines, deliverables, KPIs, and project health.
  • Drive operational readiness through structured pre-launch testing, labor and process preparation, and system validation to ensure a stable, safe, and predictable go-live.
  • Monitor and reinforce post-implementation stability, ensuring adherence to new processes, mitigating early defects, and guiding teams into steady-state performance.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of warehouse operations—including inventory management, material flow, labor planning, picking, packing, shipping, and equipment utilization—to design efficient and scalable future-state processes.
  • Manage transformation efforts within a live, high-volume DC environment, balancing project execution with active operational priorities and rapid problem-solving demands.
  • Partner with DC leaders to map current workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes focused on throughput, accuracy, safety, and productivity.
  • Support technology implementations such as WMS upgrades, automation, and analytics tools, ensuring operational readiness and minimal disruption during transition phases.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for leadership, frontline teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners throughout the transformation lifecycle.
  • Facilitate structured communication across teams to maintain alignment on priorities, risks, timelines, and operational impacts.
  • Lead complex decision-making processes, proactively escalating issues requiring senior visibility and influencing outcomes across Operations, IT, HR, Engineering, and Commercial functions—even without direct authority.
  • Drive team engagement through collaborative workshops, problem-solving sessions, and recurring touchpoints that sustain momentum and clarity.
  • Provide coaching and support to junior team members and project coordinators involved in the transformation.
  • Identify and assess risks related to operational disruption, labor impacts, system implementation challenges, and process changes.
  • Develop mitigation plans to protect safety, continuity, and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational policies across all project activities.
  • Lead change management planning and execution, ensuring DC teams receive the training, communication, and support needed to adopt new processes successfully.
  • Monitor KPIs before, during, and after deployment to measure transformation success and long-term stability.
