Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing healthcare or institutional design and construction projects.
- Strong communication and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and codes (e.g., OSHPD/HCAI, infection control, ADA, fire safety, HIPAA).
- Proficiency in scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and project management software (preferably Trimble Unity Construct/e-Builder).
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with LEAN construction principles.
- Experience coordinating relocations, FF&E, and IT scopes in healthcare settings.
- Understanding of hospital, clinic, and lab operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple design and construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with hospital goals and patient safety.
- Clearly communicate complex project information to stakeholders, including executives, clinical staff, architects, contractors, and regulators.
- Coordinate with Inspectors of Record, state agencies (e.g., OSHPD/HCAI), and contractors to ensure compliance with healthcare codes and standards (e.g., infection control, ADA, fire safety, HIPAA).
- Ensure all required documentation is complete and regulatory requirements are met prior to occupancy or project approval.
- Oversee relocations, furniture, equipment, and IT scopes, collaborating with internal teams to minimize clinical disruption.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cash flow reports; use project management tools to track progress.
- Identify and manage project risks; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and trust within project teams.
- Implement LEAN construction processes to improve project efficiency and value.
- Apply knowledge of healthcare facility operations to ensure construction supports efficiency, safety, and patient experience.
