Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Project’s leadership team in the role of Project Manager, Design and Construction. The Project Manager, Design and Construction leads and directs construction projects up to $10 million, with primary emphasis on projects of less than $1 million. You will be accountable for program development, budget, schedule, and management of project team for projects assigned. You will support the design that cares for the whole patient; mind, body and spirit. You will provide input into the design and execution of projects that address the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and construction workers in keeping with IU Health's mission of promoting community wellness. The Project Manager, Design and Construction serves as a resource to the entire Facilities Department providing technical knowledge and expertise in the requirements of construction management. You will negotiate and manage contracts, while ensuring that all construction documents and required recordkeeping is maintained appropriately. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or other related field is required.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
  • Requires knowledge of business, management, finance and project cost control techniques.
  • Requires comprehension of applicable regulations, such as the NFPA Life Safety Code, ISDH Regulations including the AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities, International Building Code and Americans with Disability Act.

  • Professional Engineer is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate procurement strategies with designers, contractors, and vendors for timely delivery.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders).
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Director.
  • Review drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support field teams with technical guidance and problem-solving.
  • Manage and forecast project costs, resources, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Report monthly progress to Design & Construction leadership.
  • Oversee substantial completion and major milestone conditions.
  • Validate closeout deliverables, including record drawings, manuals, and warranties.
