We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex technical facilities and infrastructure development supporting APL’s central initiatives. APL is preparing for a new era of growth, with more than $2 billion in capital investments planned in new construction and facility modernization projects. Reporting to the Section Supervisor for Sector/Department Capital Projects, you will oversee the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects ranging from $100,000 to $5 million in value. As a Project Manager in Design and Construction, you will… Lead internal and external teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with APL’s mission needs, budget, schedule, and quality expectations Lead multiple construction, renovation, tenant fit-out, and capital renewal projects across APL’s 450-acre campus Oversee procurement, budgeting, scheduling, design, construction, and commissioning phases Partner with internal stakeholders, leadership, and Laboratory sponsors from concept through completion Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project delivery Develop and maintain effective vendor relationships that promote fairness, consistency, and timely performance Ensure full compliance with APL standards, environmental and safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulation Provide regular, accurate project updates and financial reporting to Laboratory leadership Routinely operate APL vehicles and industrial equipment, use personal protective equipment, outside work during inclement weather conditions, and overtime may be required
