About The Position

The Project Manager (PM) Battery Decommissioning and Energy Storage blends the organizational and client facing responsibilities of a Project Manager with the safety-first mindset and technical expertise of a Field Service Technician. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing battery-related field service projects while serving as a primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. The Project Manager brings real-world field experience to project planning, risk identification, scheduling, and execution—ensuring projects are realistic, efficient, and executed safely. They must know what’s required to successfully execute a field project in the Battery Energy Storage field, with the ability to plan and sequence critical steps and respond to challenges as they arise. This role does not directly manage technicians but works closely with Field Services, Resource & Scheduling, Engineering, and Operations to ensure projects are properly scoped, staffed, and delivered.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of field service experience in the Renewable energy field; experience with Battery Storage and decommissioning preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience planning or coordinating field-based projects from start to finish, either as a Site Manager or Project Manager or similar.
  • Strong understanding of job site safety, field logistics, and technician workflows.
  • Excellent client communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical field information into clear project documentation.
  • Proficiency with scheduling, project tracking, and documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client-facing point of contact for assigned projects, leading client intake, kickoff, ongoing communication, and closeout.
  • Translate client requirements into clear, executable project plans that reflect real-world field conditions, safety requirements, and technician workflows.
  • Plan and coordinate project logistics, including scheduling alignment, technician skill matching, vendor coordination, tools, equipment, materials, and site access needs.
  • Use project and field experience to inform decision making processes, specifically when dealing with ambiguity and last second changes in project workflows.
  • Maintain a portfolio consisting of multiple short- and long-term projects.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Field Services, Resource & Scheduling, Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams to ensure projects are properly scoped, staffed, and supported.
  • Provide execution oversight by supporting field teams with scope clarification, logistics problem-solving, and client communication, escalating risks or issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, work orders, and client deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support labor planning, cost tracking, and change documentation using field-informed inputs to ensure financial and operational alignment.
  • Leverage field experience to identify risks early, improve processes, and contribute to repeatable project playbooks and best practices.
