About The Position

The Project Manager at Smith Roofing and Exteriors will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of deck and covered porch construction projects. This role requires strong leadership skills, a background in construction, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively. The Project Manager will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in project management within the construction industry, focusing on residential framing, decks, and porch construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, particularly framing.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Lead, motivate, and direct construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers while ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality control.
  • Regularly visit construction sites to monitor progress, manage changes, and address any issues that arise during construction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project updates, changes, and completions.
  • Maintain accurate project records including contracts, change orders, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Prepare and submit all required documentation for permits and inspections.
