This position is detailed to the Mayor's Office of Nonprofit Services (MONS). The New York City Mayor's Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is head of the executive branch of New York City's government. Previously, Mayor Adams has served the people of New York City as an NYPD officer, state senator, and Brooklyn borough president. The Mayor's Office of Nonprofit Services engages with and supports both New York City's nonprofit sector and City agencies that contract with nonprofit partners. Among its core functions, the Office will serve as a hub to engage with nonprofits and support them in navigating City bureaucracy, communicate critical information to nonprofits, set citywide performance expectations and track metrics to see how well the City supports and does business with nonprofits, lead the administration in systemic reform of City systems, processes, and laws, and coordinate activities to advance the recommendations of the Joint Task Force to Get Nonprofits Paid on Time.
