About The Position

- The Project Manager, Construction at the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers Florida is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The Project Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and government agencies, to deliver successful housing projects that meet the needs of the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve project goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with government agencies or public housing projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline the scope, schedule, budget, and resources required for construction projects.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any issues or changes in project scope.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, making adjustments as necessary to ensure timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Manage and supervise construction teams, providing guidance and support to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction activities are progressing according to plan and identify any potential risks or delays.
  • Prepare and present project reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other partners to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve any conflicts or issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the Housing Authority’s mission to provide quality housing solutions by delivering projects that meet the community's needs and expectations.
