The Project Manager, Construction supervises construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. Day-to-day responsibilities of the Project Manager involve the effective coordination between the construction and design teams, oversight of the construction management team and on-site building trades; implementation of appropriate controls in time, cost, and quality of various construction projects (residential, commercial, and industrial buildings); preparation of various project status reports; determination and obtainment of required permits; and the prudent allocation of funds in accordance with the budget The Project Manager communicates directly with contractors and designers concerning project costs, staffing, scheduling, and overall quality control on job sites. This position negotiates with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best price and delivery schedules; selects subcontractors and negotiates their contract terms; and ensures effective project coordination among engineers, architects, vendors, etc.
