About the position
The Project Manager - Construction Staking role at McAdams involves overseeing multiple projects in the land surveying sector, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. The position requires coordination with field crews, management of project teams, and fostering client relationships to ensure long-term partnerships. The role also includes technical responsibilities such as processing field data and generating topographic maps.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects; ensure completion on time, within scope, and budget
- Coordinate with field crews, including the preparation of field packages
- Work closely with teams to resolve issues and meet overall project goals
- Manage activities of project teams during each project phase, including boundary and topographic surveys
- Process field data and generate/create topographic contours, staking base files, road alignments, and foundation surveys
- Coordinate project submittals with local municipalities
- Foster client relations to perpetuate long-term relationships
Requirements
- NC Professional Land Surveyors License required
- Four-year bachelor's degree or two-year associate's degree in survey related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably 5 years with mentoring and training experience
- Strong technical knowledge in land surveying and field experience with surveying subdivisions, commercial properties, institutional and industrial projects
- Experience in construction-related survey computations and staking plans
- Experience preparing topo survey, boundary, and ALTA/ACSM survey maps as well as plats and easement exhibits
- Must have a solid working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D/Carlson
- Excellent communication skills
