About The Position

We are seeking motivated Project Managers/Construction Managers (PM/CM) with a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering to join our team on a VA Construction Program. The candidates will act as a Design and Construction Manager reporting to a Program Manager as well as collaborate and assist VA client staff to provide data, and generate reports, as a representative for the client on major healthcare construction projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school of higher education.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the management of both design and construction phases of a project.
  • Ability to quickly understand and master requirements of local state and federal jurisdictions concerning the Project.
  • Ability to understand Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings.
  • Working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Experience with Healthcare and Federal projects.
  • CCM or PMP certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Owner's Representative role on these programs from design through construction and closeout.
  • Learn and integrate the company's best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality, and operations in the healthcare environment.
  • Act as an advisor/liaison with the client (user groups, design team, contractors, and facility engineering representatives).
  • Support traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build contracts.
  • Scheduling during the design phase.
  • Planning during the design phase.
  • Value Engineering during the design phase.
  • Market Analysis during the design phase.
  • Constructability and Phasing Review during the design phase.
  • Establishing temporary field offices during the construction period phase.
  • Monitoring project financial data and budgetary cost accounting during the construction period phase.
  • Construction Phase scheduling during the construction period phase.
  • Conducting Progress Meetings during the construction period phase.
  • Assisting in issue resolution during the construction period phase.
  • Providing Testing and Inspection Services during the construction period phase.
  • Commissioning during the construction period phase.
  • Performing additional construction-related services during the construction period phase.
  • Claims Analysis and Resolution Services during the construction period phase.
